So, still in Georgetown and it's still absolutely lovely here. Georgetown became World Heritage a couple of years ago, which means they try to keep the colonial houses in a good shape...
We both love this mixture of nice people, this fantastic colonial-style houses, the chinese and indian quarters.... you feel so welcome everywhere and the people are just nice and friendly! You get to know people within a couple of minutes. Like yesterday when we had dinner at one of the chinese-food-stalls along the streets (fantastic soup btw!) - when we sat down there was this malyasian couple next to us, starting a conversation because they thought we're from Germany and they love Germany and have been there a couple of times in Bremen and Hamburg...
While talking to them, Aleksej from Russia (living in London) came up and we had fun watching his pictures of rat-like squirrels he took somewhere in Thailand...
Of course we enjoy the food here and the (cheap) beer. As always in Asia :)
We just came back from a very nice trip to the north of the island, to see a butterfly farm with hundreds of different butterflies. So beautiful! We went there by public bus, which was funny (the two white chicks in a bus with only locals. And with white i mean not only white but very white and pale!) and we got a nice feeling about the island and did see some nice spots along the way...
Tomorrow we're on the way to the next island, more north, called Langkawi. Our boat leaves around 8 am, which means getting up early and make our way to the Pier... Hope we find a nice bungalow there... :)
